About Us

Welcome to Heroes’ Retreat

A veteran-owned gaming lounge and hobby store dedicated to tabletop miniatures, Warhammer, and the players who bring those worlds to life.

From Idea to Dungeon Lair

Heroes’ Retreat opened its doors at Wonderland of the Americas in 2019 with a simple goal: create the kind of tabletop store we always wished existed — a place that had plenty of miniatures, a friendly crew, and enough tables to actually play the games we love.

Built by long-time hobbyists and veterans, the shop leans into a dungeon aesthetic: stone-inspired walls, themed tables, and shelves lined with armies, RPG books, and dice.

Whether you’re a tournament grinder, a lore-obsessed narrative player, or someone who just likes painting cool models, the goal is the same — you should feel welcome here.

What You’ll Find in the Lair

Miniatures & Wargames

Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, skirmish games, and more — plus pre-owned armies and bits so you can build forces on a budget.

RPGs & Narrative Play

RPG minis, monsters, and accessories to help you stage the next boss fight at your table.

Paints, Tools & Terrain

Paint ranges, brushes, tools, basing supplies, and terrain to build immersive battlefields.

Community-First, Veteran-Owned

As a veteran-owned store, Heroes’ Retreat puts a big emphasis on respect, welcome, and structure. Regulars know each other by name, and new faces get pulled into games instead of pushed to the side.

The shop hosts leagues, one-off events, and casual nights where players can experiment with new armies or scenarios without pressure.

If you’re walking in for the first time, expect someone to say hi, ask what you play, and help you find a table or starter kit that fits.

What regulars say

  • “Best place in town to actually get games in on real tables.”
  • “Staff knows the games and can help you navigate new rules and releases.”
  • “Feels like a home base for our local Warhammer community.”

Come See the Dungeon in Person
